Metal Injection on the album’s debut single wrote, ‘The song [Gruesome Tools of Torture] is about surgical dismemberment without anesthesia, because maximum suffering is clearly the only option when it comes to death metal. It certainly helps that the song sonically fits the lyrics.’ Giant metal outlet The PIT adds, ‘When you blend death and thrash metal together, you can expect music that sounds both exhilarating and haunting.
