Be Nice To The People (LP)

Recorded in 1977 by legendary producer Odion Iruojebest known for his work with Fela KutiBe Nice To The People captures the final flickers of Nigerias rock revolution. Inspired by the runaway success of high school band Ofege, Question Mark emerged as a new generation of musicians blending the raw energy of psychedelic rock with the evolving pulse of Afrobeat and the emerging rhythms of Afro-disco.

Formed by college students who grew up in the shadow of the Nigerian Civil War, Question Mark created a sound that was both rebellious and restorativechanneling the spirit of peace, unity, and post-war cultural rebirth. Their only album stands as a fierce, fuzzed-out relic of a once-thriving underground scene that helped define Nigeria’s musical identity in the 1970s.

A lost treasure from the golden era of Nigerian rock, Be Nice To The People is essential listening for fans of Afro-psych, vintage fuzz-funk, and the rich legacy of post-colonial West African music.
